FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the difference between acoustic treatment and soundproofing?
Acoustic treatment focuses on improving the sound inside a room — reducing echo, improving speech clarity, calming noise reflections, and making the space more comfortable.
Soundproofing, on the other hand, focuses on blocking sound from entering or leaving a room. It usually involves adding mass, sealing gaps and using specific materials like MLV or acoustic plasterboard.
Most people only need acoustic treatment, not soundproofing.
We will always advise which one is truly necessary.
2. How do I know if my space needs acoustic treatment?
If your space feels noisy, echoey, or conversations are unclear — you likely need acoustic treatment. Common signs include voices sounding “blurry,” a room feeling loud even with few people, or meetings where sound becomes hard to follow.
Schools, churches, offices, cafés and gyms often face these issues due to hard surfaces and open layouts.
3. What causes echo or reverberation in a room?
Echo is caused by hard, reflective surfaces such as concrete walls, glass, tiles, plaster ceilings and bare floors. When sound hits these surfaces, it bounces repeatedly and creates reverberation.
Acoustic panels absorb those reflections, helping the room feel calmer and clearer.
4. How much acoustic treatment does my room need?
Coverage depends on the size, height and purpose of your space. A classroom needs different coverage than a church; a meeting room needs different treatment than a gym. We calculate the necessary amount after assessing your photos, layout and usage.
Our approach is always practical — we focus on what is sufficient, not excessive.
5. Are your materials non-toxic and safe?
Yes and No. While we aim to accommodate, we are moving towards prioritising formaldehyde-free, eco-friendly and non-toxic materials suitable for children, families, schools, and wellness environments.
We avoid materials that shed fibres, release irritants or affect indoor air quality. Your health and wellbeing are central to our design approach.
6. Do acoustic panels remove noise from outside?
No — acoustic panels treat echo inside the room. They do not block external noise.
If external noise is the issue, you may need soundproofing, not acoustic treatment. We will help you determine which solution is right for your situation.
7. Can acoustic panels work without changing my interior design?
Yes. Acoustic panels can be designed to blend seamlessly into your space. We offer a range of colours, textures, and modern designs — including timber slats, minimalist panels, ceiling clouds, and custom arrangements.
Our layouts prioritise aesthetics as much as performance.
8. Can I install the panels myself?
Yes, you can. We do recommend professional installation for your ease and worry free choice but if you’d like to Do-It-Yourself, we can always assist to supervise you.
Correct placement, alignment, mounting and safety considerations ensure the panels work effectively and look visually precise. Improper installation can reduce their performance or create uneven results.
9. How long does installation take?
Most rooms can be completed within a few hours. Larger spaces such as churches, gyms or multipurpose halls may take one or more days depending on complexity.
We work cleanly and efficiently, with minimal disruption to your activities.
10. Do you provide acoustic testing?
Yes. We offer practical acoustic assessments to measure reverberation time (RT60), analyse reflections, assess speech clarity, and evaluate noise leakage.
The results help us design a treatment plan that is accurate and effective.
11. Will acoustic panels work for offices and meeting rooms?
Absolutely. Meeting rooms, offices and open-plan workspaces often suffer from echo and speech clarity problems. Acoustic treatment reduces distractions, improves productivity and creates a calmer working environment.
12. Do you help with design and material planning?
Yes — this is one of our core services.
We guide you through acoustic layouts, material selection, safety considerations and treatment quantity. Our design approach ensures balance between acoustics, aesthetics and wellness.
13. How much does acoustic treatment cost?
Pricing depends on room size, treatment amount, material type and installation method. We will always offer honest, transparent recommendations — no overselling, no unnecessary extras.
You can request a quote with photos and room dimensions for an accurate estimate.
14. Do I need a consultation before buying panels?
Yes — consultation ensures you do not waste money on the wrong materials, incorrect coverage or ineffective placement.
We diagnose the real issue, then recommend what your room actually needs.
